Pricing
Is WePDF free?
Yes: all core PDF tools (compress, merge, split, edit, sign, protect, watermark, rotate, delete pages, unlock) are free, with no signup required. A premium subscription unlocks advanced OCR, AI summarisation, and large-file processing.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to use the free PDF tools or to generate any of the document templates. An account is only needed if you subscribe to the premium plan.
How much does premium cost?
Premium pricing is shown on the pricing block on any WePDF home page and adapts to your currency (EUR, USD, GBP). Pricing varies by billing cycle (monthly vs annual).
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Premium subscriptions can be cancelled from your account dashboard at any time. There is no minimum-term commitment.
Security & Privacy
Where are my files processed?
For most core tools (compress, merge, split, edit, sign, watermark, rotate, delete pages) processing happens entirely in your browser: your files never leave your device. OCR, AI summarisation, and conversion run on EU-hosted servers; files are processed in memory and not retained.
Is WePDF GDPR-compliant?
Yes. WePDF is operated by WePDF SAS, a European company, with EU-based infrastructure for server-side tools and no advertising trackers on core tool pages.
Do you store the files I process?
Core browser-side tools never see your files at all. For server-side tools (OCR, AI, conversion), files are processed in transient memory and deleted within minutes.
Can I use WePDF for confidential documents?
Yes. Browser-side tools are safe for confidential documents because the file never leaves your device. For server-side tools, the EU-hosted, short-retention setup is designed for sensitive workflows, but for highly classified content we recommend the browser-only tools.
Tools
What's the maximum file size?
Browser-side tools have no hard file-size limit: performance depends on your device's memory. Server-side tools (OCR, AI) have generous limits on the free tier and unlimited on premium.
Can I edit a PDF without losing formatting?
Yes. The PDF editor preserves the underlying PDF structure and lets you add text, images, shapes, and annotations on top. For deep structural edits, use 'Convert to Word' first, edit in Word, then convert back.
Does the OCR support my language?
WePDF OCR supports Latin-script languages, Cyrillic, Greek, and CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean). For best accuracy, ensure the scan is at least 300 DPI.
Can I merge PDFs with mixed page sizes?
Yes. The Merge PDF tool handles mixed page sizes and orientations. You can drag-and-drop to reorder pages before merging.
Document Templates
Are the legal templates valid in my country?
Our French legal documents (attestation d'hébergement, quittance de loyer, bail commercial, contrat CDI, etc.) are designed for use under French law. Business templates (CV, invoice, business letter) are jurisdiction-neutral and work internationally.
Can I edit a template after generating the PDF?
Yes. After generating the PDF, you can re-open the template form to make changes and regenerate, or use the PDF editor to make small annotations directly on the generated file.
Are the templates reviewed by lawyers?
The French legal templates are reviewed by practising French attorneys. Business and universal templates follow standard formats but are not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Can I get a Word version of a template?
Yes: after generating the PDF, use the Convert tool to get a Word (.docx) version that you can edit further.
Account
How do I update my email address?
Sign in, open your account dashboard, and update the email in profile settings. A confirmation link will be sent to the new address.
I forgot my password: how do I reset it?
Use the 'Forgot password' link on the sign-in page. A reset link will be emailed to you within a few minutes.
Can I get an invoice for my subscription?
Yes. Invoices are emailed automatically after each renewal and are also available from your account dashboard.
How do I delete my account?
Email contact@we-pdf.com from your registered address with the subject 'Delete account', or use the deletion option in your account dashboard. Per GDPR, all personal data is removed within 30 days.
