What is the CT600?
The CT600 is the corporation tax return that UK companies must file each year with HMRC. It reports the company's profits, allowances, reliefs and the corporation tax liability for the period.
It is normally accompanied by computations and full statutory accounts. Smaller companies can use simplified iXBRL templates and can file the return through HMRC's online services.
The deadline is 12 months after the end of the accounting period — but the corporation tax must usually be paid 9 months and 1 day after the period end.
When should you use the CT600?
Use this document if you:
- Your company is filing its annual corporation tax return
- You are a sole director-shareholder filing a small CT return
- You are an accountant preparing the CT600 on behalf of a client
- You are filing supplementary forms (CT600A, CT600B, etc.)
- You need to amend a previously filed CT600

CT600 corporation tax return: complete and file with HMRC
The CT600 is the corporation tax return filed annually by UK companies to HMRC. It reports the company's profits, allowances, reliefs and the corporation tax payable for the period, along with iXBRL-tagged statutory accounts and the tax computation.
Our editor lets you fill in the main CT600 fields: company information, accounting period, trading and other profits, capital allowances, losses, R&D claims, group reliefs and the corporation tax computation. The PDF is generated instantly for your records or for review by your accountant.
Remember the dual deadlines: the return is due 12 months after the end of the accounting period, but the tax itself is normally payable 9 months and 1 day after period end. Late filing or payment leads to automatic penalties and interest, so plan accordingly.
