What is the DVLA D1 form?
The D1 is the DVLA application form for a UK driving licence. It is used to apply for a first provisional licence, to renew a licence, to add categories, or to update licence details after personal or medical changes.
It is also used by drivers who want to exchange a driving licence from a country outside the EU/EEA for a UK licence.
Always send the form with the original identity documents and the appropriate fee — copies are not accepted by the DVLA.
